Our client is a company leader in the Italian financial markets, part of an international network. 
For their Legal Team, we are searching a high-calibre candidates to take up the following challenging role:

SENIOR LEGAL COUNSEL - FINANCIAL SERVICES (SLC - SS - 24)

The candidate we are looking for, who will report to the Group's Head of Legal, will be responsible for independently overseeing some of the Group's companies, with a particular focus on legal, contractual, and regulatory aspects.

The main responsibilities will be:
- Regulatory and Legal Framework Development:
Contribute to the development of the international company's legal framework and internal policies with a focus on regulatory and legal matters including business law, contractual law, corporate law, intellectual property law, and competition law. She/he will support the companies of the Group active in the post trading businesses (clearing, custody and settlement).
- Review of Regulated Products & Services:
Evaluate and update the terms of business for the company’s regulated products and services to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and the commercial needs of the business.
- Regulatory Policy Implementation:
Play a key role in shaping and executing regulatory enforcement policies, procedures, and guidance to align with both internal objectives and external legal obligations.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
Assess and respond to inquiries, concerns, and issues raised by market participants, investors, and other stakeholders, ensuring timely and accurate communication on legal and regulatory matters.

Required knowledge and experience;
- Law degree.
- Around 10 years of experience in a similar role, ideally within financial services or regulatory environments.
- Deep knowledge of financial markets and of European and Italian laws and regulations such as MiFiD II, EMIR, CSDR, d.lgs. 58/1998 and Consob and Bank of Italy Regulations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal, influencing and organizational skills to mobilize and motivate delivery in a cooperative and collaborative working environment.
- Fluency in both written and spoken English.
